Economic Flashings

Introduction

The flashings from Economic Profiles are fabricated to order from flat steel and aluminium. They are available in the full range of gauges and finishes to match or contrast with our range of profiles. Profiled sheets in steel and aluminium may also be brake pressed to order.

Full details of colours, finishes and durablilty are available upon request.

In order to ensure a weather tight seal and a good appearance to the building, attention should be given to the correct design detail.

The following points should be of assistance:-
  • Flashings to colour match should always be produced from the same coil as the sheet. No liability for colour variations will be accepted for flashings purchased elswhere.
  • Edges may be welted where considered necessary.
  • Where flashings joints require butt straps, the butt straps should be 150mm wide and sealed.
  • Flashings should be secured to the sheeting with secondary fixings.
  • Where flashings are overlapped, the minimum lap for roofs should be 150mm, for walls 100mm. The flashings should not be fixed together at these laps.
  • Where it is necessary to provide an expansion gap the jointing sleeve should be fixed to one flashing end only.
  • Factory made corners should be used where possible.
  • When supplying drawings/designs to Economic Profiles for flashing manufacture, always ensure the flashing dimensions are within the manufacturing tolerances and the coloured face is indicated on the drawing.
